Walk-in showers and wet rooms
Frameless glass enclosures, curbless entries and full wet rooms where the shower and tub share a waterproofed zone. Waterproofing is the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether the room lasts, so we do not shortcut it.
Steam showers
Complete steam systems including the generator, controls, sealed enclosure, sloped ceiling and dedicated ventilation. A steam shower is a mechanical installation, not a fixture swap, and it has to be built as one.
Tubs and freestanding soaking tubs
Freestanding soaking tubs, alcove tubs and tub-to-shower conversions. Freestanding tubs need floor structure and supply routing planned in advance, which we handle at the design stage.
Vanities and custom cabinetry
Stock, semi-custom and fully custom vanities, including floating vanities and double-sink configurations. In older homes a custom vanity is often the only way to use the full wall.
Tile work
Floors, shower surrounds, niches and feature walls in porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and large-format slab. Layout is set out before the first tile goes on, so cuts land where they are least visible.
Heated floors
Electric radiant heating under tile, with its own thermostat. Best installed during a full remodel, since retrofitting later means taking the floor back up.
Lighting and ventilation
Layered lighting at the vanity and in the shower, plus properly sized exhaust ventilation ducted to the exterior. Undersized ventilation is the most common cause of the mould and peeling paint we are called in to fix.
Plumbing relocation
Moving a toilet, relocating the shower, converting to a double vanity or reworking the layout entirely. Permitted and inspected.
Accessibility and aging-in-place
Curbless shower entries, wider doorways, comfort-height fixtures and blocking inside the walls for grab bars. Adding the blocking during a remodel costs almost nothing; adding grab bars afterwards to walls that were never reinforced means opening them again.
What Goes On Behind the Tile
Bathrooms fail from the inside out, and they fail slowly. By the time a homeowner sees a loose tile or a dark line along the grout, water has usually been getting past the surface for a long time.
The tile is a finish, not a waterproof layer. What actually keeps water out is what sits behind it: the substrate, the waterproofing membrane, the way the shower pan is sloped to the drain, and how the corners and the niche are detailed. Every one of those is invisible the day we hand the room back, and every one of them decides whether the room is still sound in ten years.
We build showers with a properly sloped pan, a continuous waterproofing membrane, and sealed corners and penetrations, and we water-test before tile goes on. It adds a day. It is the difference between a bathroom and a bathroom you have to do twice.
It is also worth knowing what to ask any contractor you are considering: how they waterproof, whether they test before tiling, and what substrate they use behind the tile. The answers separate the trades quickly.
Small Bathroom Remodels
Hall and guest bathrooms in San Diego homes are often under 40 square feet, and homeowners assume that limits what is possible. It limits the layout, not the result.
The changes that matter most in a small bathroom are usually not structural. A curbless shower with clear glass instead of a curtain removes the visual break that makes the room feel boxed in. A wall-hung or floating vanity shows more floor and reads as more space. Larger-format tile means fewer grout lines and a calmer surface. Recessed niches keep bottles off the floor of the shower. Better lighting and a properly sized extractor do more for how a small bathroom feels day to day than almost anything else.
Where a genuine reconfiguration is worth it, we will say so, and where it is not, we will tell you that too rather than sell you a wall move that buys eight inches.

- Construction. Demolition, rough plumbing and electrical, inspections, waterproofing, tile, fixtures and glass.
- Final walkthrough and warranty. Punch list completed before we hand the room back.

Every project is scoped and quoted individually. City permits and fees are billed separately.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Most bathroom remodels take 3 to 5 weeks of construction. Staying within the existing layout sits at the shorter end; moving plumbing, adding custom glass or building a steam shower sits at the longer end. Design and permitting run before construction on their own timeline.
Can you make my shower curbless or accessible?
Yes. We build curbless entries, widen doorways and reinforce walls for grab bars. If you are planning to stay in your home long term, this is the least expensive time to do it. The structural work is already open.
Do you install steam showers?
Yes. We install complete steam systems including the generator, sealed enclosure, sloped ceiling, waterproofing and dedicated ventilation.
Do I need a permit to remodel a bathroom?

Can you remodel more than one bathroom at once?
Yes, and it is usually more efficient: shared trades, one permit process and one mobilisation. We sequence the work so you always have a functioning bathroom.
What brands and fixtures do you use?
We are not tied to specific brands. We spec to each client’s budget and design.
Should I choose a tub or a walk-in shower?
If the bathroom is the only full bath in the house, keeping a tub is usually the sensible call. It matters for young families and it matters at resale. In a second or primary bathroom, most of our clients convert to a larger walk-in shower and do not miss the tub. We talk it through against how your household actually uses the room.
What is the most common mistake you are called in to fix?
Failed waterproofing, and undersized ventilation. Both are invisible on the day the work finishes and both surface a year or two later as mould, peeling paint or loose tile. Both are cheap to do properly the first time.
Can you remodel a bathroom in an older home?
Yes, and much of our work is exactly that. Older homes bring cast iron waste lines, galvanised supply, non-standard framing and the occasional surprise behind the wall. We inspect what we can before quoting and tell you what we find rather than absorbing it silently into the schedule.
