Whole-home remodel in Santaluz

Kitchen, primary bath, wet bar and floors in one project

We remodeled much of this house. In the kitchen we kept the existing cabinets and painted them, finished the island in its own color, and added new counters, a new backsplash, new hardware and two pendants over the island.

The primary bath received a freestanding tub under the window, a new tiled shower over a hot-mopped pan, a niche by the tub and another in the shower, and new tile on the tub wall and the floor. We also remodeled the wet bar, the laundry room and the half bath, and painted the interior.

Wood floors went into the living and dining rooms, the hallways and the sitting room, and tile into the kitchen, the hall to the garage, the laundry room and the half bath. Before the wood could go down, we scraped off a loose slip sheet that had been glued to the slab.

In the living room, two large round chandeliers replaced the ceiling fans. Along the way we stained the inside of the front door, added a chandelier at the entry and relocated the TV outlet above the fireplace.

A neighbor who saw the finished work later hired us too.
