What clients say

4.9 stars on Google from 26 reviews, 5.0 on Houzz and 5.0 on Yelp, and 7 Best of Houzz awards since 2022.

“In 2021 I contracted with Seven to design and install a major kitchen remodel; new cabinets, appliances, flooring, countertops, plumbing, venting and lighting. The resulting remodel was done on time and budget and of such quality that I had them come back the following year to do a master bath remodel. Recently, I had a problem with an exhaust vent duct that had worked loose over the ensuing 5 years. Since it was out of warranty, I texted the owner, Tomer, to ask for help. Within three work days one of his crew showed up and reinstalled the hood at no charge. Seven does great work and stands behind their workmanship!”

“This is our second job with Tomer, and we will continue to use him and Seven Home Improvement for our remodeling needs. Our first project was a master bath remodel that included a steam shower installation (best investment ever!), and we were so satisfied that we moved on to remodel the kids bathroom as well. Throughout both projects Tomer and his team maintained excellent communication and flexibility as we transitioned through the various stages of progress.”

“Seven Home Improvement did an amazing job on the renovation of the two bathrooms in my condo. I had no idea what to do with bathrooms built in the early 1990’s! Donovan Berg brought us together with a very creative designer and together we planned a modern yet compatible design. Because of my work schedule I had to rely completely on Seven and Donovan to coordinate all phases from ordering and delivering to final completion. The project turned out better than I ever could have imagined! If prompt, perfect and pretty are your goals, I recommend Seven!”

A free visit with no obligation, and a clear next step.
Timing
We usually call within one business day to set up the visit.
3D design looking down the room toward the tub under the window and the glass shower
3D design for the same bathroom (a rendering, not a photo)

02 Design and selections

We draw the layout and produce 3D renderings, so you can see the finished room before anything is torn out. You choose cabinets, counters, tile, fixtures and hardware with our team, and each choice comes with its price.

You get
A drawn layout, 3D renderings of the new room and a price for each choice. If the city has to approve the work, the blueprints and engineering too.
Cost
Design has its own price, in writing before it starts. It depends on the number of rooms, the size of the house and whether the design is only for the look or also for city approval.

03 Written scope and fixed price

Nothing starts until you sign. If something unexpected turns up once the walls are open, we show you and agree the change in writing before that work goes ahead.

You get
A detailed scope of work and a fixed price to sign.
Payments
A down payment of $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less, then a payment as each stage is completed. The schedule is in the contract.

You get
Approved plans, with the permits pulled and the inspections scheduled by us.
Timing
It depends on the scope and on which city reviews the plans.

05 Construction

The project manager who scoped and priced your project runs it, coordinates the trades and keeps you posted. Inspections are booked as each stage is ready.

You get
A written schedule and regular updates.
Timing

Common questions

Is the consultation free?

Yes. We come to your home, look at the space and talk through scope and budget. There’s no charge and no obligation. After design, you get a written scope and a fixed price.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Seven Home Improvement Inc. holds California CSLB license #1078564 (Class B General Building Contractor), issued in July 2021, and is insured. We’re also BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, and a 7-time Best of Houzz winner.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. We prepare the drawings, submit them to the City of San Diego, the County or your city, and schedule the inspections. Permit and plan-check fees are billed at cost.

How do payments work?

Our payment schedule follows the rules of the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). The down payment is $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. After that, you make a scheduled payment as each stage of the work is completed. Every payment is written into your contract before the job starts.

What warranty do you offer?

Every project comes with our written warranty: 1 year on our workmanship, starting when the work is substantially complete. If a defect in our work shows up in that year, let us know in writing and we’ll fix it at no charge. Materials, fixtures and appliances carry their manufacturers' warranties, which we pass on to you. The full terms, including what isn’t covered, are in your contract. You can read the current wording on our client care and warranty page.

How long does a remodel take?

Most kitchens and bathrooms take 4 to 8 weeks of construction from the start date, when no walls are moved. ADUs depend on the size and the site, and the city’s review time comes first, so we give you a written construction schedule once the plans are approved.

Where do you work?

Across San Diego County. Most of our projects are in Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, Poway, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Bernardo and North County. See service areas.
